With Mozilla's free, open-source WebThing Gateway software running on a Raspberry Pi, you can connect MicroBlocks to the internet. Using a web browser on a computer or mobile device, you can control things (e.g. lights, fans, or plant watering systems) and monitor sensors from anywhere on the internet! Even better, this is all done securely. Your data remains on your own Raspberry Pi gateway, so it can't be stolen or data-mined.
These cards and videos will help you get started creating MicroBlocks IoT projects. Once you've created a project, you can connect it to the WebThing gateway via a USB cable. Or, if you have a board that supports WiFi, you can connect your project to the gateway wirelessly.
